Lexicon Enhanced Search: |
(LES) provides federated database search based on their own terms. LES leverages
database lexicons that are downloaded from the database Website every time the site
updates its information. Supported databases are those providing some mechanism
to export their lexicon.

Standard Lexicon Search |
(ELS) this tool will allow searching NDG databases by using NIF standard neuroscience
vocabularies. Standard vocabularies can be mapped to local database lexicons using
ontological servers such as: BIRN-Bonfire, Query Integration Server - OS, GO, UMLS-KS

Ontologically Mediated Search |
(OMS) Lexicons in both local databases and standard vocabularies will be enhanced
to ontologies to be related to the following integration approaches:
- These ontologies can be mapped to mediator proxies to allow federated queries.
A mediator query proxy must be provided or created to connect to the mediator
- A standard ontology can be mapped to RDF centralized repositories (Oracle/RDF),
...
- A standard ontology can be used to improve "search engines" specificity and sensibility
